My name is Sonya Worley. My husband, Tim Worley, and I met in the summer of 1980. Summer Love. We married in July 1982. We started in this breed at the end of 2002. Not that we had ever had anything but farm dogs before. My husband Tim comes from a farm family where they milked over a 100 head of dairy cows twice a day. You learn to work when you grow up on a farm. I grew up living with my grandparents most of my life. We grew and canned almost all our food, just as Tim's family had. Tim's family on his mother's side even grew their own wheat to be ground into flour and sugar cane for sugar. besides all their own meat, veggies and fruit. Talk about living off the land. It's all they knew. Tim has cattle and bales a lot hay in the summer. He stays very busy in the warm months. He is so good to help me when I have to travel to dog shows. I do have a SMALL salsa garden in the summer. Call me Lisa Douglas (Eva Gabor) from Green Acres. I do not can any more! Only those from my generation will get that.
We feed mostly RAW and being in a rural community we have access to downed cows to cut up for the dogs. So the misfortune of other farmers is our dogs good fortune. It is a lot of work but the dogs enjoy eating this way. If you ever come for a visit you may see something in the process of being cut up.
We have good time with our dogs, our farms and our life! I would have to say our favorite thing is our grand children, Aden and Addy, and my God children, River and Raegan. They are the delight of my life. Raegan has been showing dogs with me since 2012 when she was 9 years old! We have a great time together when we travel. We hit every thrift store we can find! Her mother calls her my "mini me". And River is Tims' shadow. :+}
